Deadline soon to register for part 1 of the 2-day DIY strategic planning workshop series

Does your public library need to complete a strategic plan? MCLS is hosting a two-day series, scheduled for September 9 and October 21, where you will learn and practice do-it-yourself tools you can use to create your own plan. These will be highly interactive sessions in which you will be coached and advised throughout the entire process.

During this two-day series held at the Lake County Public Library in Merrillville, Indiana (located in northwest Indiana), you will:

  • Gain an understanding of national trends in public library use
  • Study your own library’s data
  • Learn market research tools and use at least one to identify community needs
  • Develop exciting mission and vision statements for your library
  • Create customer-focused, future-oriented goals, objectives, activities, and outcome measures

Part 1: Identify your community’s needs, September 9, 10am-3pm (CT),
Part 2: Set your library’s direction, October 21, 10am-3pm (CT)

Attend one or both of these workshops. The cost to attend is $99/person/day for MCLS members and $199/person/day for non-MCLS members. Lunch is included.

The deadline to register for Part 1 is Friday, September 4.
